2010 Head Shaving Event

The 13th Annual Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer Head-Shaving Event will be held on Saturday, May 29th beginning
at 10am at the Parkland Mall. Anyone wishing to participate or volunteer is encouraged to contact the Canadian Cancer Society
office located at 29 Second Ave N, Lower Level, Yorkton at 782-2788 or park.ccssk@sk.cancer.ca
or the Ottenbreit family at 783-2637 or closecuts@sasktel.net. Online registrations
may be submitted by clicking here and
signing up via the Canadian Cancer Society website.
In conjunction with this year's event, there will be another opportunity for people between the ages of 17 and 50 to register
as a stem cell and bone marrow donor with OneMatch from 10am until 2pm. Registrants are advised to bring their health card and
identification with them when joining the registry. There are currently two young people from our area awaiting a bone marrow
transplant and we are encouraging everyone who is eligible to join. Those unable to sign up that day (or for more information), please feel

This year, we are planning a video tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer. People are invited to email a picture
of their loved one to closecuts@sasktel.net along with their name, type of cancer,
age and date of passing and any other information they desire to provide.
To add some fun to the event, we have also implemented a "Nominate a Shave" program where people are encouraged to nominate
someone to become bald or clean shaven. If the nominated person is agreeable, then a fundraising duel will begin with the
person raising the most money getting their way. Email nominations to closecuts@sasktel.net
